The 7th May elections in England, Scotland and Wales produced an historic result for Reform UK. Once again, we have shattered the worldview of the Westminster bubble, where the old parties and media keep trying to convince themselves that Reform UK is a flash in the pan or just a protest vote.
When it came to the real elections, Reform UK won 3,825,559 votes across Britain - one million more than our nearest rival! We are now entrenched as the most nationwide political party, with support everywhere across the country. And we are not going away.
In England, Reform UK won the local elections, gained 1,451 new councillors and took control of 14 more councils. In Wales, we came from nowhere to win 29% of the vote and 34 seats, becoming the real opposition in the Senedd. We also arrived with a bang in Scotland, winning 16% of the vote and electing 17 MSPs.
Our election slogan, ‘Vote Reform - Get Starmer Out’, set the terms of the national debate. In England, Starmer’s party lost almost 1,500 council seats, as we stormed Labour’s former ‘Red Wall’ strongholds. They also lost control of Wales for the first time since the Senedd opened 27 years ago.
Despite Labour’s collapse, these elections also exposed the failed Conservatives as a pathetic excuse for an opposition and no longer a national party. They lost 563 council seats. We wiped them out in former strongholds like Essex.
If these results were replicated at the next general election, Kemi Badenoch, James Cleverly, Angela Rayner, Lisa Nandy and many other Conservative and Labour leaders would have lost their seats to Reform UK.
This is the end of the old establishment’s two-party system. Millions of people across the country who have had enough of being betrayed by the old parties voted Reform UK for real change. We have made a remarkable advance in building a national political movement in less than two years. And as Reform UK leader Nigel Farage says, we are still only getting started.
