Zia Yusuf: “We’ll be the most prepared political party to form a government”
Reform UK will use its recent record-breaking donations to build “ultimate meritocracy” and prepare the party for government, Reform Shadow Home Secretary Zia Yusuf has said.

Following the announcement of two £36 million donations to Reform UK, Yusuf told The Sunday Times that the money would help recruit the “very best” people into British politics.

Full-time campaign managers will be deployed across constituencies, while Reform’s policy team will be expanded. The party will also hire lawyers to begin working through the “thousands of pages” of legislation that would be required to implement Reform’s programme.

“We’ll be by far the most prepared political party to form a government with fresh ideas”, Yusuf said.

He also described Reform UK and its leader, Nigel Farage, as “antifragile” - meaning that any challenges they face will ultimately make them stronger.

“You think you’ve sorted out the weeds in your garden because you sort of chopped them - and they seem to come back even larger, right?” he said. “That’s because the weeds are antifragile. You didn’t chop them, you didn’t kill them. As long as you didn’t kill them, they’d come back strong.”

Yusuf also made clear his personal commitment to helping Farage become prime minister.

“I’m literally dedicating my life to making Nigel our prime minister”, he said, describing the Reform leader as “the most exemplary, extraordinary mentor I’ve ever had.”
